2014 GDA Annual Meeting

Kickoff Breakfast

Start your meeting off with laughter (and a great breakfast). The Kickoff Breakfast on Friday, July 18 features Keynote Speaker Jody Urquhart on "The Nerve to Serve ... Say Hello to Humor & Goodbye to Burnout!" Humor helps. The ability to laugh at life helps us deal with daily disappointments and setbacks. Humor gives dental professionals the nerve to serve in our increasingly complex and challenging environment. Join the GDA this morning as we demonstrate how humor helps you stay in control, stay positive, and maintain balance and perspective.

Jody is passionate about spreading the message of the importance of fun at work. A motivational speaker for more than 14 years, Jody is a motivational keynote speaker at over 60 organizations and associations every year, and is a top keynote speaker. Jody's trademark is to deliver VERY funny motivational speeches. Humor is a key part of her audience connection.

A Night in Old Havana Dinner Dance

Join President Marshall Mann and his first lady, Leanne, for “A Night in Old Havana!” La Habana Vieja (Historic Havana) will come alive as we transform the Ritz into the streets of Havana leading to the famed Buena Vista Social Club on Saturday, July 19. This casual, social event will feature a live band, playing your favorite dance tunes, along with a few of your favorite Cuban / Latin tunes thrown in for good measure. Cuban food stations will allow you an opportunity to mix and mingle throughout the night. (Dinner is not plated.) Food selections will feature traditional Cuban-inspired foods, like grilled skirt steak with sour orange mojo, sweet plantains, bronzed local fish and coconut rice, black bean and jicama salad, and more for your dining pleasure. An authentic Cigar Roller and a “Make-Your-Own” mojitos bar will further enhance the atmosphere of the evening!

Even though it’s causal, don't plan on showing up in your flip-flops! The “Night in Old Havana” is a casual but resort elegant event. Guayaberas (traditional Cuban shirts) for gentlemen and tropical chic attire for the ladies are preferred. Tickets are limited so get yours early and prepare to get your Mambo on!
