About the GDA Foundation for Oral Health:
Founded in 2010 by the Georgia Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association (GDA) Foundation for Oral Health was formed with the mission to improve Georgian's oral health through outreach programs that provide comprehensive oral health education and free dental care to Georgia's underserved populations.

Please consider making a donation today! Your contribution, no matter the amount, will make a difference in helping us to reach thousands of patients (children and adults) across Georgia.

Georgia Mission of Mercy (GMOM)

Our signature project, the Georgia Mission of Mercy (GMOM) event, was first held in 2011 in Woodstock, GA. GMOM is a free, two-day dental clinic for underserved Georgians in need of dental care. Since our inaugural event, GMOM has provided over 32,000 free dental services to 5,757 patients from across Georgia. This care is valued at over $4.8 million in free dental services and oral health education. GMOM events are currently held every other year, with our most recent event in Perry, GA in June 2015 which successfully reached 1,959 patients from all across Georgia!

Moving Forward and Extending our Outreach Efforts

While continuing to provide care and outreach through GMOM, the GDA Foundation for Oral Health is also working to expand our reach further within our communities through projects like:

Children's Dental Health Month: Educational activities held across Georgia with Pre-K and school aged children throughout the month of February.

Give Kids A Smile Day: A 13-year-strong, national event started by the American Dental Association (ADA), in which local Georgia dentists come together to provide free oral health services and education to underserved children the first Friday of February each year.

Special Olympics, Special Smiles: A partnership with Special Olympics Georgia in which volunteer dentists conduct oral health screenings, fluoride varnish application, and oral health education with the athletes competing in the Special Olympics Summer Games and Masters Bowling Events.

The Foundation is also looking at starting other initiatives, such as a Donated Dental Services program and a Nursing Homes and Oral Health Education Initiative, but we can't do these things without donor support.
