Dear GDA Members,

When choosing health insurance coverage, I believe you will find the 2016 GDA health plans to be the most competitive and comprehensive plans in Georgia. Over the past two years, I have been honest and told you there were other plans that may be a better value. However, that is no longer the case!

Plans from other insurers that were less expensive the past two years are increasing in price dramatically – many as much as 50% for the 2016 enrollment renewal. In comparison, GDA broad network health plan increases remain in the single digits, making the plan pricing extremely competitive. For example, a GDA broad network plan is only $38 more for a 52-year-old male than a Blue Cross Blue Shield Pathway Network plan offered in Georgia that has a narrow network and NO out-of-network provision.

I believe the plans available to you as a GDA member are the BEST in the state. When comparing plans, consider these important factors:

• Coverage counts—Don’t be fooled by lower-priced narrow network health plans with limited providers and facilities or higher out-of-network rates. The GDA’s broad network health plans give you greater control over your health care choices with access to 15,000 of your desired doctors, specialists and hospitals. GDA health plans include 34% more hospitals and 8,634 additional physicians over narrow network plans across the state.

• No Medical Enrollment Questionnaire—Your health history or age is not a rate variable when joining your association group plan. To sign up, simply complete the enrollment form.

• More Options, Fewer Hassles—Visit any doctor or specialist you choose. And you do not need a referral when you visit one.

• Personal Agents—As a member, you have access to dedicated agents at the GDA office who will give you personal attention to meet your health insurance needs.

• Added Value—A vision benefit and $10,000 of term life insurance for a low $1.90/month are available to you as a GDA member.

I believe in these plans so much that I am enrolling my family and offering them to our staff. I encourage you to do the same. You won’t see a better value for this type of coverage in Georgia.

To enroll in GDA health insurance plans for 2016, please complete the open enrollment form and return it by Monday, December 14 by fax, email, or mail to Christy Biddy at the GDA office.
