Each of the 50 state constituent dental societies of the American Dental Association has established peer review and ethics programs as a service to their member dentists. The goal of these peer review and ethics programs is to provide an alternative method for dentists and patients to resolve concerns and disputes. The GDA Peer Review and Ethics Committee reviews and mediates disputes involving the appropriateness of care and/or the quality of care provided; and, for ethics complaints, looks for potential violations of the ADA Principles of Ethics and Code of Professional Conduct.

*The GDA’s peer review process does not offer punitive damages.
