Message from the President- March 1

So, let’s recap February.

Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day, Fat Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, Presidents’ Day, my birthday (60) and a ton of GDA events. It was a fabulous month with officer visits to the Northern District, the Southeastern District, and the Greater Hall County Dental Society. Every one of them was remarkable and unique in their own way. One of the best parts of my position is traveling the state and meeting with amazing members who have so much passion for our organization, not to mention the fabulous leadership that I have encountered. It gives me great confidence in the future of the GDA and dentistry in our state. I look forward with anticipation to the remaining district meetings!

The legislative session rolls on and we have a constant presence with our finger on the pulse of all things dental. We are also continuing to monitor the situation with the second dental school while all the time advocating for the needs of DCG and its current student body.

As February has slipped into the history books, we look toward this month and beyond. The GDA staff is hard at work preparing for our quarterly Board of Trustees meeting as the Hinman Dental Society is making final preparations for their annual Hinman meeting which is always a terrific event.

Speaking of terrific events, the GDA annual convention is right around the corner and is going to be a meeting NOT to be missed. The staff and committee members have been hard at work ensuring that this will be one of the best conventions ever.

First of all, we are staying right here in Georgia! Jekyll Island is playing host to us this year and the facilities are unbelievable. We are super excited that our keynote speaker at the kickoff breakfast will be past UGA coach Mark Richt. That alone is a great reason to join us, but if you need more, the staff has gone above and beyond to make this a fun time for all family members. As we are holding the meeting over the Fourth of July long weekend, the island fireworks will be right in front of where we will be staying. One of the best DJs in the South will keep everyone entertained before the fireworks show, and the food promises to be a low country feast!

So, make your reservations now to join us for incredible CE and a fun-filled family Fourth with great speakers on an island paradise with friends and colleagues!

Contact me anytime with any questions or concerns you may have.

Cheers.
