May 2020 Health Insurance Premium Update 

May invoices are due on May 10. However, you have the option to defer that payment until May 25, 2020.

If you currently pay your premium via a recurring credit card payment, that will process as usual on May 5 unless you wish to defer to May 25.

Beginning soon, GDIS is going paperless. All statements will be sent electronically unless you notify us below that you wish to continue to receive mailed statements.

If you’d like to verify that we have the correct email address or you would like to have your statements mailed or payments deferred, please notify us by filling out the form on gadental.org/health-form.

If you have already notified us via email or by completing the form, then you will not need to notify us again.

Anthem is extending coverage for COVID-19 care through December 31, 2020 for insureds on the GDA health plans

If a member or anyone on their health plan needs to be treated for COVID-19, Anthem will cover the care with no copays or cost-sharing as long as they receive treatment from doctors, hospitals, and other health-care professionals in their plan's network. 

Anthem is extending coverage for care from home for insureds on the GDA health plans
Telehealth doctor visits give members access to health care without leaving their home. Telehealth visits with health-care providers in their plan's network are covered at no cost to members through September 13, 2020. This includes visits that are not related to COVID-19.

The Virtual Care text feature on the Sydney Care mobile app allows members to chat with a doctor. Their first two text sessions are free through December 31, 2020. Additional text visits are $19 each.

Taking care of emotional health is important during this stressful time. Anthem members have access to a wide range of online resources to help them and their family members address emotional health and life challenges: 

  • Psych Hub offers resources to help with pandemic-related stress such as social isolation, coping with grief and loss, and other mental-health issues.
  • AnthemEAP.com offers helpful resources, including online seminars, practical tips, and links to health organization websites. It is available to all members through June 30, 2020. To log in, use the company code EAP Can Help.

COVID-19 Update: If You Can’t Get to Your Primary Doctor, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield has an Alternative

Check symptoms and visit a doctor from home. 

Members can download the free Sydney Care mobile app today for a quick and easy way to evaluate their symptoms and see a doctor. They can check their symptoms, and then the app will connect them to a doctor through a LiveHealth Online video session or a Virtual Care text session right from their phone. The doctor they’ll see can evaluate symptoms, help understand whether they’re at risk for COVID-19, and let them know whether they need to visit a local health care provider in person. Their LiveHealth Online visit will be at no extra cost through June 14, 2020.
