2026 GDA Leadership Nominations Are Now Open

The GDA Nominating Committee is now accepting nominations for several key leadership positions — and this is your chance to help shape the direction of the Association and elevate leaders who will strengthen our profession.

If you know a colleague who is ready to lead, or if you’re considering stepping forward yourself, now is the time.

These roles influence advocacy, member experience, strategic priorities, and the future of dentistry in Georgia. Strong leaders make a strong Association — and your district’s voice matters in this process.

Important Deadlines

State Officers, District Trustees & At‑Large Trustees

  • Nominations Due: May 27, 2026

  • Reviewed by the Nominating Committee and presented to the House at the Summer HOD Meeting

ADA Delegation

  • Nominations Due: December 1, 2026

  • Reviewed by the Nominating Committee and presented to the House at the Winter HOD Meeting

Open Leadership Opportunities

State Officer Positions

Vice President

  • Serves a 1‑year term beginning January 1, 2027

  • Automatically becomes President‑Elect after the term

  • Candidates must be GDA members in good standing with demonstrated leadership at the district, state, or national level

District Trustee Positions

The following districts must nominate a new Trustee for a 3‑year term beginning January 1, 2027:

  • Eastern District Trustee

    • Currently: Brad Hall (final term)

  • Southeastern District Trustee

    • Currently: Becky Aspinwall (final term)

Districts must submit:

  • Candidate CV

  • District letter of support

Candidates must be members in good standing with demonstrated leadership experience.

At‑Large Trustee Positions

The Nominating Committee is accepting nominations for three At‑Large Trustee seats, each serving a 3‑year term beginning January 1, 2027.

Current trustees eligible for re‑nomination:

  • Pinkney Gilchrist

  • Hank Bradford

  • Jessica Brown

Candidates must be members in good standing with leadership experience at the district, state, or national level.

ADA Delegation Positions

The following ADA Delegation roles are open for 4‑year terms beginning January 1, 2027:

  • Western District Delegate

    • Currently: Rene Roberts (eligible for additional term)

  • At‑Large Delegate

    • Currently: John Sigman (eligible for additional term)

  • At‑Large Alternate Delegate

    • Currently: Annette Rainge (eligible for additional term)

Eligibility:

  • GDA member for at least 5 years

  • Practicing dentist and/or dental educator in good standing

  • Leadership experience strongly preferred

  • ADA Commission/Council service or involvement in other dental organizations is a plus

  • District delegate candidates must include a district endorsement letter (not required for at‑large roles)
