Professional Bio

Rhoda J. Sword , DMD, MPH, was in private practice in Evans, GA, for over 6 years, while teaching part time at DCG. She transitioned into full time teaching in 2008 and is a Professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences. She teaches the pre-clinical occlusion and operative courses and is the course director for Introduction to Clinical Dentistry for the D2 students. She is especially passionate about working with remediation programs and helping students fully grasp the especially challenging concepts and hand skills associated with dentistry. She teaches treatment planning and operative in the Junior Clinic as well as maintaining a limited faculty practice. Dr. Sword is an ACD member, PFA Member, Hinman member and is the Editor of the GDA, is on the GDA Board of Trustees and is an ADA delegate. She also recently earned her Masters in Public Health in Healthcare Management from Augusta University.
