Independent HIPAA Security Rule Readiness Review

An objective, third-party review designed to help dental practices prepare for the anticipated changes to the HIPAA Security Rule, currently projected for regulatory action in July 2027.

The review examines your practice’s existing technical safeguards, cybersecurity controls, and IT infrastructure against key areas addressed in the proposed HIPAA Security Rule changes. This includes identity and access management, multi-factor authentication (MFA), encryption, backup and disaster recovery, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, network security, and other technical and administrative safeguards.

The goal is to provide doctors, practice owners, and practice leadership with a clear understanding of where the practice stands today and what may need to be addressed in preparation for the upcoming changes.

Upon completion, your practice will receive a comprehensive written report identifying existing strengths, potential gaps, areas requiring further attention, and recommended actions. The report is yours to keep and is specifically designed to be taken back to your current IT provider or managed service provider for review and remediation planning.

The report can also serve as a common reference for doctors, practice owners, executive leadership, practice administrators, and IT providers, helping everyone understand the practice’s current security posture, prioritize areas of concern, and begin planning for technology, security, and operational changes that may be necessary.

By conducting the review in advance, dental practices have an opportunity to identify potential gaps early, discuss them with their existing technology provider, establish priorities, and plan for any necessary improvements rather than waiting until new HIPAA Security Rule requirements are finalized.
