What happens when the body’s clotting system doesn’t work as expected—and how should dentists respond? This session connects the science of platelet function and the coagulation cascade to real-world dental scenarios. Attendees will learn how to quickly assess bleeding risk, interpret key lab values, and adjust treatment plans accordingly. The focus is on practical application, helping clinicians confidently manage patients with known or suspected hemostatic disorders.

    "Bobby" Duc Q. Tran, MD, MSc is the inaugural Chief Medical Officer at Hemophilia of Georgia, Inc and provides scientific guidance on strategic and operating decisions. He is an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.He received his medical degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa where he also served as Chief Resident. He, then, completed a fellowship in hematology at Emory University. He has clinical research interests in the fields of hemophilia and bleeding disorders and was the Principal Investigator or co-Principal Investigator on multiple clinical trials. He currently serves as the Medical Director for the Southeast Region US HTC Network and serves on the Board of Directors for the American Thrombosis & Hemostasis Network (ATHN).
