Modernized Scheduling for VA Community Care Appointments

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is implementing a faster way to schedule Veteran community care appointments with a new program called Enterprise Patient Scheduling (EPS). EPS uses a cloud-based technology that allows the VA schedulers to book approved appointments directly into a dentist's system. This innovative process simplifies the referral and scheduling process, eliminating the need for multiple phone calls and faxes to coordinate patient preferences, helping dentists focus on what matters most: patient care.

EPS is a one-stop solution for coordinating with the VA. Some suggested benefits include:

  • Streamlined Coordination: EPS enables the VA schedulers to book directly into a dentist's system in real-time – reducing the number of phone calls and faxes for dentists and their staff, saving valuable time. EPS-scheduled appointments also include the authorized referral number, giving Veterans faster access to care.
  • Improved Collaboration: EPS enhances partnership with VA through faster, more efficient care coordination.
  • EPS Integrates with Scheduling Systems: EPS integrates with 150+ electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling systems. EPS also partners with health care industry leaders like Zocdoc, Blockit, and Kyruus, ensuring they are able to seamlessly connect with provider schedules.
  • Secure Patient Files: EPS does not access patient information; all patient files remain safe and secure.
